Mt. Lake Park

Mt. Lake Park is 85 acres; a spectacular setting for an event such as our Tai Chi & Qigong Festival and Symposium. It has a variety of buildings and amenities with wide open spaces of woods and fields for both indoor and outdoor workshops. Although we've established an indoor location for each workshop in the event of heat or rain, there will also be a designated outdoor location for each workshop so that, at the discretion of the workshop leader, the workshop can be held outside.

At the original Tai Chi Farm and at the Master Jou Birthday Celebration and Tai Chi Festival, only those few lucky individuals (normally workshop leaders) who were invited (and could fit) had "on-site accommodations". The original Tai Chi Farm had cabins and Bruce had several bedrooms in his house. Everyone else had to find a hotel to stay in (or an understanding friend to stay with), which wasn't easy because except for one motel five miles up the road, every other hotel was at least 15 miles away from Wantage or Warwick (at least back then).
Mt. Lake Park, on the other hand, has a plethora of accommodations. Starting with the eight apartments; fully individual apartments within 2 stories in the apartment building right next to the Lodge. Each has it own bathroom, a bedroom with a queen sized bed, and a living room (with a couch, though not necessarily large enough for an additional person).

Next are the cabins. Cabins have a mixture of queen sized beds and individual single beds, but most are in independent rooms. Three or four rooms in the same cabin share a bathroom and a living room.
Both apartments and cabins will be provided with sheets, pillow cases, towels, and linens. Pricing varies from $85 to $135 per night per room. Room reservations will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you want to reserve one, you should be quick to register where you can choose exactly which cabin you plan to reserve. (Organizers, sponsors, workshop leaders, and volunteers get to pre-register before anyone else, so if you want to be sure you get first choice next year, consider volunteering!)

If you like to rough it like the good ol' days of the Tai Chi Farm (where virtually everyone pitched a tent), then you are in luck! For a nominal $10 fee, you can pitch a tent at a designated spont in the woods by the lake (or under the roof of the pavilion). The same goes for if you have an RV or plan to sleep in your car (or on someone's couch or floor). We will make a bathroom and a shower available to those who register.
There are other buildings on site where we will be holding workshops; a beautiful lakeside pavilion and a dance studio under the indoor theatre. The lodge itself has a large community room, a cozy lounge with a fireplace, and a dining room. Registration will take place in the lobby. The dining room will be where the Silk Road Expo will be held so that you can peruse the goods and services of our sponsors. The large community room will be set up with cameras and screens for our hybrid zoom, and all of our zoom workshops and group activities will be held there. In honor of our Tai Chi ancestors, we've named these rooms
- Chen Wangting Dining Room
- Hao Yueru Lobby
- Sun LuTang Lounge or Outside Area #1
- Chen Fake Studio or Outside Area #2
- Wu Jianquan Pavilion or Outside Area #3
- Yang ChenFu Hall and On Zoom
